Just bought a 2nd hand 2007 Sienta so need some bros to help verify what is 'normal'...
While driving tonight (1st day to own) I noticed there the gear shift markings (PRNDSB) is not lighted, meaning I cannot see the letters at night even when I turn the headlights on and the other interior buttons and lights are light (ie aircon indications, switches, etc.)
Is this normal or the markings supposed to be illuminated?

It is not normal. Either the cable is not connected properly or there could be a blown fuse. I had this problem when i first collected my new car. The agent told me it's normal and all his stock are like that. But when i went to a radio installer, he told me the cables were connected wrongly behind the head unit and the lights cable was connected to the radio antenna 😡

Thank you for the response!
I got mine checked in workshop confirmed it was light bulb issue only.
Good thing!
