Recently for the past few months my car had been vibrating badly especially when accelerating past about 70km/h. Went to Autobac for servicing and at the same time asked the mechanic for opinion. Without test driving, the mechanic told me my rim might be bent and causing the vibration. So i changed the rim as recommended by him but the problem still exist. Was angry that the mechanic made the wrong diagnosis. Then last week i brought my car to another mechanic which i knew for quite some times from mxtrading. He test drive my car and told me need to change drive shafts. He also feels that the transmission and brake rotor might have some problems and causing the vibration too. However, he advised me to change the drive shafts first and see how it goes. After the repair job which cost me $360, all the vibration is gone. There is also no more jerking when engaging or changing gears. The jerking during stopping or moving off also is gone. Hence there's actually no problem with my transmission or brake rotors. It was certainly good advice from my mechanic to change the front drive shafts first. My recommendation is if your car mileage is more than 100,000km and you feel that your transmission might have some problems, then maybe it's good idea to replace the drive shafts first to see if it can solve the problem. If you want to look for my mechanic, his number is 9726 3323 and his name is Ah Meng. His workshop is at kaki bukit. You can refer to his Facebook page m.facebook.com/MKAutoworkz/

When start engine rpm always hit 2.5 before dropping slowly. Is it normal. For me, my engine will hit about 1500rpm from a cold start. It will drop to 1000rpm when I engage the gear. your 2500rpm for engine start seems quite high. how high is your idling rpm? normally after the engine has warmed up, the idling speed should be about 700rpm with the gear engaged.

Easy to exchange lobangs I think very few active members in this forum anymore. I guess many members in the Sienta FB page but that's more for the new model. Don't worry, i still post here occasionally when i find lobang. You can search through the history to find the info you need.
